Kathleen “Kat” D. Toler, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 after a brief illness. The Tattnall native never ventured far from her roots. She married Roy Jarriel Toler, Sr. in 1950 and the two made a wonderful life together until his passing in 1983. Kat was always “busy”. Among her many hobbies were gardening and sewing. Her talents were on full display several times as she sewed 2 wedding dresses and countless costumes for various school and church functions. More than anything else however, she loved spending time with her family. The years of nurturing her children, and later grandchildren and great grandchildren, were among the best years of her life. She leaves a void that no one can fill. Ms. Toler was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Jarriel Toler, Sr.; a sister, Wilimenia Rewis; a brother, James DeAntonio.
She leaves behind a loving family including a son, Roy Jarriel Toler, Jr. of Reidsville; three daughters, Leona (Jimmy Boyd) Lynn of Reidsville, Barbara Ann Todd of Claxton, Melba (Lee) Bacon of Ludowici; a brother, Buck (Norma) DeAntonio of Avon Park FL; a sister, Rosemary Lowe of Hinesville; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends made throughout life’s journey.
