Anita Ann Lariscey Cook, age 62, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2024. Born in Lyons on November 14, 1961, to Jay and Nanerl Brinson Lariscey, Anita spent many years in Emanuel County before moving to Tattnall County 12 years ago. Known for her compassionate heart, she dedicated her life to helping others as a private duty nurse, providing care and comfort to patients and their families during their final days. Many of those she cared for were in hospice, and she took great pride in offering them solace and support during their most challenging times. In her free time, Anita found joy and relaxation in sewing, a beloved hobby that helped her unwind. She was a devoted member of Believers Church. Anita is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Linda Morris and Paul Lariscey.
She is survived by her fiancé, John Shaff of Reidsville; her daughters, Wendy (Paul) Sterling of East Dublin and Misty Crosby of Rome; siblings, Jason Lariscey of Dublin, Joyce (Ed) Richards of Brooklet, Pat Lariscey of Lyons, Eric (Delilah) Lariscey of Lyons, Susan (Tommy) Williams of Collins, brother in law, Dennis Morris of Juliette; grandchildren, Dylan Sterling, Courtney (Cliff) Sapp, Gracie Sterling, Destinee Moore, Kamden Moore, and Abigail Sterling; great grandchildren, Brooklyn McDaniel and Aaron Smith and one on the way; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with Reverend Sherry Hill officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Lariscey, Adam Lariscey, Matthew Lariscey, Tarry Kirkland, Michael Richards, and Joseph Hunter.
