Anthony James, age 48, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Metter on May 8, 1977 and had lived in Tattnall County all of his life. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, craftsmanship, and an unyielding love for his family. His journey in the construction industry began at Big Ronnie Willis Construction Company, paving the way for many years with Sanders and Sanders Construction Corp. Eventually, he embarked on the path of entrepreneurship by starting his own construction business. Anthony was known for his extraordinary talent; he possessed the remarkable ability to create and repair with his hands, earning admiration from all who knew him. He remodeled his wife's parents home for his wife by himself which was the greatest material gift he had ever given her.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Anthony was a devoted family man at heart. His family was his everything, and he cherished the role of being a father, especially in a household filled with girls. His joy knew no bounds when it came to his grandchildren. They brought him immense happiness, and he felt deeply honored to have one of them carry on his name. This honor was among the greatest that life had to offer him, showcasing the pride he took in family bonds.

Many remembered Anthony for his dry sense of humor and the warmth he brought into conversations. Despite any difficulties he faced, he never complained about being sick. His humble and hardworking nature characterized not only how he approached his work but also how he interacted with family and friends. He was known to be very protective of his loved ones, a trait that endeared him further to those in his inner circle.

Anthony’s hobbies and interests reflected his zest for life; he primarily enjoyed hunting, with fishing and collecting guns also being close to his heart. He found peace and joy in these activities, which allowed him to connect with nature and create lasting memories.
