Arthur Wayne Jarriel, age 77, passed away Tuesday March 14, 2023 at East Ga Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, Ga. He was born in Lyons on December 30, 1945, to Arthur and Vera Jarriel. He was a resident of Colins, Ga. He lived in Hardeeville and Jackson S.C. for many years before moving to Collins, Ga. He was a graduate of Lyons High School class of 1965, a member of the United States National Guard and retired from Seaboard Coastline Railroad. He had 4 grandchildren and enjoyed time with all of them, especially fishing with his son, Marshall and grandboys, Michael and Brandon. He enjoyed fishing, working on lawnmowers and collecting guns. He was also a University of Georgia, Atlanta Braves and Nascar fan. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Lyons, Ga. He is preceded in death by his parents, and four sister, Faye Jarriel, Charlene Sykes, Metalis Williford and Latrelle New.
Mr. Jarriel is survived by his wife of 50 years, Frances (Fran) Jarriel of Collins, children, Marshall (Cristi) Jarriel of Tiger, Ga., Jessica (Eric)Roland of Cochran, Ga., Melissa Jarriel of Vidalia, Ga., grandchildren Michael (Jordan) Jarriel of Toccoa, Ga., Courtney Jarriel of Tiger, Ga., Brandon (Nicci) Roland of Manhatton, KS., Kelsey Roland of Cochran, Ga., and his sister Evola Corley of Lane, TN and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 18, 2023 with the funeral services to follow at 3:00pm from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with Reverend Michael Godbee officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Jarriel, Brandon Roland, Keith Evans, Eric Roland, Bryan Jarriel, Joseph Coursey and Hagan “Rambo” Jarriel.
Low Country Cremation and Burial is serving the Jarriel family.
