Lyons, GA –
Carolyn J. Brown, age 79, transitioned peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Oxley Park Health & Rehab in Lyons while under the compassionate care of Affinis Hospice. She was born on December 12, 1946, to the late Bill Johnson and Vertie Lee Nelson.
Carolyn was a woman of faith who lived with a thankful heart and a deep appreciation for the many blessings in her life. Her faith provided comfort and guidance throughout the years, and she carried that spirit with quiet strength and grace. She found happiness in life’s simple routines, especially caring for her home, preparing meals, and sharing time with those she loved most. For Carolyn, family was always at the center of her life, and the moments spent together were among her most treasured.
Her presence brought comfort to those who knew her, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of the many family members and friends who were blessed to share in her life. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Betty Jean Johnson, Rosetta Johnson, Franzella Nelson, and Martha Johnson; and five brothers, Edward Frazier, Wilbert Frazier, Richard Frazier, Bobby Jean Johnson, and Robert Nelson.
Two sons, Bernard Johnson and James (Maola) Johnson; six grandchildren, Toriano R. Humber (Shatina), Brandon L. Johnson (Toni), Laquintin B. Johnson, Timothy J. Johnson, Brand D Johnson, and Sharonda Johnson; eight great grandchildren, Tania McIntosh, Toriano R Humber Jr., Tatum H. Humber, Zakiyah E. Johnson , Brandon L. Johnson Jr., Braylen Johnson, Eli Johnson, and Braxton Johnson; two nephews, Gary Robinson, Sr. and Alfonso Johnson; a niece, Mary Helen Robinson; along with a host of other relatives, and countless friends made along life’s journey.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial.
A Homegoing Celebration will be conducted on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church, 364 East Grady Avenue, Lyons, GA 30436 with Rev. Alfredie McLeod, Eulogist.
Pallbearers will be Jermaine Robinson, Jahquavis Robinson, Jamar Robinson, John Mitchell, Malik Robinson, and Reginald Williams, Jr.
Interment will follow in Macon Cemetery.
