Carolyn Culbreth, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Optim Medical Center in Reidsville. A native of Jefferson County, Carolyn was born on September 24, 1946, to George and Louise York and lived in between Glennville and Reidsville for most of her life.
Carolyn dedicated herself to meaningful work and cherished pursuits, she served diligently in Administration at Central State Hospital, where her commitment to excellence was unwavering. For fifteen years, she worked as a painter at GSP, bringing beauty and expression to those around her. Beyond these endeavors, Carolyn was a successful entrepreneur, owning a very prosperous housekeeping service.
A faithful member of the Believer's Church of Reidsville, Carolyn’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her. Those who gathered at her church knew her as a person of integrity and compassion, embodying the true meaning of servant leadership. In her personal life, Carolyn found joy and comfort in the companionship of her beloved dog, Benji, cooking, her care for plants that flourished under her attentive hands, and most of all, her family.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Michelle Wear; and daughter-in-law, Penny Davis.
She is survived by her children, Greg Davis and Cary Reynolds; six cherished grandchildren; and sister, Betty Edge.
Family will receive friends at Believer's Church of Reidsville at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Cheryl A. Hill officiating. Interment will take place thereafter at Reidsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Eccleston, Chris Steiner, Gregory Paul, Davis Jo, Nicholas Wear, and Don Phillips.
