Catherine Deloris Morris Lynn, age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, GA. She is now resting in her Heavenly home at the feet of Jesus. Born in Stilson, GA, and a long-time resident of Savannah, GA, Catherine recently resided in Cobbtown, GA.
Catherine was a faithful member of Wilder Memorial Baptist Church in Savannah. She deeply loved the Lord and her family, dedicating her life to both. She worked as a waitress for over 30 years at The Wagon Wheel and Taylor’s Restaurant in Savannah, where she made lasting connections with many. Her zest for life was evident through her many hobbies—she cherished time spent with her family, enjoyed playing "UNO," working on puzzles, crafting, shopping, and playing video games on her Nintendo DS. Catherine was a Godly woman whose unwavering faith and love touched the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of kindness and devotion will live on in the lives of those she loved
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Morris and Esther Cribbs Morris; her first husband, Harold Lynn Sr.; her second husband, Mike Lynn; four sisters, Margie Bryant, Irene Sparks, Marie Morris, and Juanita Morris; two brothers, Daniel Morris and William "Bill" Morris; a daughter-in-law, Daphne Lynn; and a stepson, Donald Lynn.
She is survived by her daughters: Kathy (William) Cowart of Fleming, GA, Debbie (Albert) Hodges of Pembroke, GA, Della (Jerry) Cowart of Cobbtown, GA, and Diane (Bill) Connor of Pembroke, GA; her son, Harold Lynn Jr. of Cobbtown, GA; and her stepson, Michael Lynn of Bellville, GA. Catherine is also survived by her sisters, Virginia (Jasper) Murray and Louise (James) Rigdon, both of Metter, GA. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Mandy Cowart, William Cowart III, Christopher Hodges, Ashley (Josh) Morrison, Ben Morse Jr., Kevin Morse, Keith (Monica) Morse, Douglas (Makayla) Lynn, and step-granddaughter Courtney Hester, along with many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Lawrence Baptist Church, 1521 Jones Road, Pembroke, GA 31321, with Pastor Albert Hodges officiating.
The family is honored by all expressions of sympathy, floral tributes may be sent to Lawrence Baptist Church or they would be honored by donations made in Catherine’s memory to either the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284, or the National Kidney Foundation, 9218 Metcalf Ave. #424, Overland Park, KS 66212.
