Charles "Hoggy" Stanfield,77, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the Community Hospice in Vidalia. The lifelong Glennville resident was born on January 2, 1947 to Joe and Annie Dinkins Stanfield.
Hoggy dedicated many of his working years to Chemtal in Riceboro, where he earned respect and admiration from his colleagues. After many years of hard work, he retired, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and commitment.
A man of vibrant passions, Hoggy thoroughly enjoyed the great outdoors. He had a deep love for hunting, especially hog hunting, which reflected both his adventurous spirit and his appreciation for nature. Fishing was another cherished pastime for him, providing moments of tranquility and connection with the water. Moreover, Hoggy took great pride in his yard, often found raking and tending to it with care, making it a testament to his nurturing character. He was of the Pentecostal faith and is preceded in death by his parents, a grandchild, and 7 siblings.
He is survived by his children, Robert (Charlene) Stanfield and Stephen "Judd" (Mandy) Stanfield all of Glennville and Audrey (Justin) Sims of Claxton; sister, Opal (Larry) Wilson of Glennville; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Per Mr. Stanfield's wishes there will be no public service.
