Obituary
David J. Smith
passed away on Tuesday,
December 13, 2011
at Serenity Place in Dublin,
GA after an extended illness. Dave
was born on
August 26, 1933 in Glennville, GA. After retiring
from
the Georgia Department of Transportation, Dave pursued
his interest in farming. Having been a lifelong workaholic,
he
continued with the same dedication to tree farming and
other
farming projects. He is a member of the Reidsville
United
Methodist Church is preceded in death by his parents,
Willie
and Fanny Smith; infant brother, Thomas Franklin Smith;
step-mother, Clio Smith and his daughter, Felicia S. Baggett.
He is survived by his daughters, Tracy Poling and her husband
Curtis of Brunswick, Marie Smith of Smyrna, GA.; Two grandchildren,
Tashia McCranie and Smith Baggett; Two great-grandchildren, Christian
and McKenzi McCranie; Three step-grandchildren, Andrea, Lisa and
Randy Poling; Brother, Daniel Smith and his wife Faye; Sister, Diana
Dyess and her husband Aubrey; Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation and Funeral Services
Visitation will be from 6 until 8pm on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from the Reidsville Chapel.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Friday, December 16, 2011 from the Reidsville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Smith Baggett, Curtis Poling, Dennis Durrence, Alan Baggett, Jason Connor and Roger Kennedy.
