Dean Miller

Dean Miller passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on March 23, 1933, in Anatone, Washington, to Vierbie William and Inez Morse Miller.

 Dean's early years set the stage for a remarkable journey. He graduated high school and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Walla Walla Community College, with the help of a basketball scholarship, showcasing his athletic talent and dedication to education.  

After his athletic pursuits, Dean embarked on a long-standing career with Allied Corporation, where he dedicated 30 years of service. During this time, he rose through the ranks to manage several department stores, earning respect and admiration from colleagues and customers alike. It was evident that Dean carried a strong work ethic and commitment to his roles.

 Following his retirement from Allied, Dean took on a new venture, acquiring the largest hunting club in Washington State, known as Sportsman Landowners. Covering an impressive 65,000 acres, this establishment became a testament to his love for the outdoors and his keen interest in hunting, fishing, and golfing.

 In search of a more tranquil life, Dean moved to Reidsville 25 years ago, where he continued to realize his dreams and passions by starting Premier Realty. He immersed himself in his new community, becoming a well-known and respected figure. 

Dean's devotion extended beyond his professional pursuits. He cherished his church, Reidsville Baptist Church, where he attended services every Sunday, sitting on the front row, demonstrating his unwavering faith. In 2013, he was honored to be inducted as a Deacon, a role he embraced with pride and commitment. 

Dean was not only known for his accomplishments but also for his vibrant personality. He was hailed as the best storyteller, a trait that brought joy to many, captivating listeners with tales from his diverse life experiences.

 He was a former member of the Reidsville Lions Club and the Reidsville Rotary Club. Dean is preceded in death by his parents and a stepson, Wesley Noble.

 He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sue Miller of Reidsville; his children, Jim (Nell) Miller of Washington, Cheryl (Charlie) Hanson of Alaska, and Jennifer Miller of Washington; stepdaughter, Alisa (David) Haberman of Savannah; brother, Duane (LaVone) Miller of Washington; 9 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, one great great grandson; several nieces and nephews. 

Family, friends, and all who wish to pay their respects can join together for visitation at Reidsville Baptist Church, located at 146 West Brazell Street, Reidsville, GA 30453, on October 15, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at the same location from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with Dr. Charles Jonas officiating. Interment will be in the Reidsville City Cemetery.

 Memorials may be given to the Reidsville Baptist Church.
