Doris McKee Otto, age 85, passed away peacefully on December 29 at Spanish Oaks Retreat and Hospice.
Doris was born in Reese, Michigan on September 22, 1926. Her parents, Robert and Olga McKee of Birmingham, Michigan are deceased. The family moved to Birmingham in the late twenties and Doris attended schools there
until her high school graduation in 1944. She then went on to attend Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana. Throughout her many moves, Doris became involved in numerous organizations but her proudest accomplishment included organizing a Town Hall Series in Warren, Ohio. She was an avid shopper, loved to
travel and play golf and bridge. Many happy times were spent entertaining family and friends.
Doris leaves behind her husband of 65 years, Martin, who resides at The Landings in Savannah, Georgia. In addition, she leaves a son Robert and his wife Ginger of Dayton, Ohio; a daughter Deborah Otto Sunderman and her husband Matthew of Belton, South Carolina; five grandchildren – Scott Otto of Phillipsburg, Pennsylvania; Sean Otto of Scottsdale, Arizona; Douglas Otto of Rochester, New York; Benjamin and Broderick Otto Sunderman of Belton, South Carolina. Also two great grandchildren Caitlin and Zack Otto of Hampton, New Jersey. The family wishes to thank the staff at Spanish Oaks Retreat and Hospice for the gentle loving care they provided Doris during her struggle with Parkinson’s disease.

Preferred Memorials and Donations
After moving to the Landings in 1986, Doris and Martin were deeply involved in the organization and start up of Messiah Lutheran Church so in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the Messiah Lutheran Church at One West Ridge Road, Savannah, Ga. 31411.
