Eddie Marcia Griffin Bennett, age 78, passed away on December 9, 2025 peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by those who loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion, warmth, and unwavering love. Born on November 21, 1947, and raised in Homerville, Georgia, she was the daughter of her late parents, Henry and Boulise Godwin Griffin. Eddie Marcia later lived with her husband in Savannah, Georgia, before making their home in Stockton, Georgia, where she spent most of her adult life building a family and home with her husband, whom she adored.
Eddie Marcia was the beloved wife of the late Swenson Bennett, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. Their bond was a steadfast partnership, and the family finds comfort in knowing the two are reunited once again. Without a doubt, he was eagerly awaiting her arrival at their “jumping off spot.” She was also preceded in death by her father, mother, three brothers, and a sister.
Eddie Marcia is survived by her children, each of whom she loved with immeasurable pride: Marty (Wendy) Bennett of Cairo, Georgia; Catina (Vann) Mathis of Stockton, Georgia; and Crystal (James) Jackson of Bonaire, Georgia. She was the adoring grandmother of Ian Christopher Jackson and Jacob Bennett, who brought her immense joy. She is also survived by her sister, Maudine (Jay) Smith of St. Marys, Georgia, along with countless nieces and nephews who were blessed by her generosity and affection.
A woman of extraordinary heart, Eddie Marcia expressed her love through thoughtful, handmade acts of love. She spent her life baking cakes for every special occasion, preparing favorite meals that became treasured family traditions, and sewing clothes that were stitched with tenderness. Her pride in her children and grandchildren was abundant, steady, and fiercely felt by all who knew her.
While she will be deeply missed by all who loved her, they find solace in the comfort of faith, trusting in the promise that they will one day be reunited.
In accordance with Eddie Marcia’s wishes, no public service will be held. Her family encourages loved ones to honor her memory by extending the same kindness, devotion, and generosity she offered throughout her life.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the Southwell Health and Rehabilitation Center in Adel, Georgia for their professional and caring service to our mother.
Low Country Cremation and Burial has the honor to serve the Bennett family.
