Eleanor Kay Boaen, age 65, passed away on January 4, 2026, at Memorial Health University Medical Center. She was born on August 9, 1960, to the late Milton E. Boaen and Elizabeth Schiefelbein Boaen.
Eleanor lived life boldly and unapologetically, guided by a free-wielding spirit that defined who she was. She had a deep love for flowers and found peace in the simple joy of going fishing. Known for her dislike of wearing shoes unless absolutely required, Eleanor embraced life on her own terms, a reflection of her independent nature and fiery personality. She was decisive, strong-willed, and unafraid to do what she believed was right, always knowing exactly what she wanted and when she wanted it.
Above all else, Eleanor loved her family fiercely. Her forgiving heart and unwavering devotion kept her loved ones close, no matter the miles or challenges life placed between them. Her presence was a constant reminder of strength, loyalty, and unconditional love. She was preceded in death by her parents, a beloved lifelong friend, James Cribbs, Sr., as well as three brothers and four sisters.
Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are her three children, Trinia of Lyons, James, Jr. of West Virginia, and Gabrielle of Collins; four grandchildren, Christian, Dessa, Timothy, and Axle; four siblings, Jimmy Boaen of Vidalia, Joyce Boaen Beasley of Lyons, Mary (Carl) Edwards of Eatonton, and Theresa Ross of Washington, Georgia; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
The family will hold a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
Low Country Cremation & Burial has the honor of serving the Boaen family.
