Eugene "Bud" Jernigan

Eugene "Bud" Jernigan, age 75, passed away on Thursday May 22, 2025 at his home. He was born on July 1, 1949, to Charles Edward and Nellie Jackson Jernigan and had lived in Glennville for many years before making his home in Andersonville, GA. Bud lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love for his family.

Bud was a proud United States Marine Veteran, having served his country with honor. His commitment to excellence extended beyond his military service; he was actively engaged in the workforce and was currently employed with Americus Heating and Air Conditioning, where he was respected and appreciated by his colleagues.

A man who found joy in simple pleasures, Bud enjoyed spending quality time with his great-grandson, Declan. Their bond was a treasured part of his life, highlighting his role as a devoted caregiver and mentor. Bud found solace in nature and loved to spend his free time gardening, tending to his yard, fishing, and hunting. These hobbies brought him peace and fulfillment, allowing him to connect with the outdoors he so admired.

He was of the Baptist faith and is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Ann Phillips and Irene Simmons.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Patty Yeomans Jernigan; his daughter, Jennifer (Bruce) Cline of Hampshire, Illinois; granddaughter, Kaylee (Daniel) Dennis of Peachtree City; great grandson, Declan Dennis; his siblings, Jane (Donnie) Stubbs, Judy Owens all of Glennville and Paul (Bertie) Jernigan of Collins; his 2 canine companions, Ladybug and Daisy; 2 other children, Dee (Mike) Hejny of Glennville and Shane Jernigan of Texas; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Bud will be held at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, Georgia, on May 27, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM with Reverend Bryan Anderson officiating.
