Frances Lavone Holland, age 79, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, at Community Hospice in Vidalia. She was born in Metter on March 26, 1947, and had lived for the past 40 years in Lyons, GA. Her life was marked by love and dedication, particularly to her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her world.
Frances found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid fisherman, finding solace and connection with nature during her time spent by the water. Her appreciation for fresh vegetables was evident in her frequent visits to local family-owned establishments such as Driggers Farms, a place she cherished deeply. Shopping was another pastime that brought her quiet happiness, offering moments of discovery and delight.
Throughout her life, Frances’s warmth and care extended beyond her family, creating memories that will be treasured by those who knew her. Her spirit reflected a devoted and nurturing nature, leaving a lasting impression through the love she gave so freely.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Willie Lois Brown and her husband, Frankie Harold Humphrey.
She is survived by four children, Johnny Humphrey, James Humphrey (Amanda Sapp), Blake Holland, and Teresa Bowen; grandchildren, Amanda Allison, Stacey Moore, Brandy Tootle, Haley Humphrey, Randy Humphrey, Keegan Holland; and several great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday April 22, 2026 beginning at 1PM, with the funeral services to follow at 2PM with Brother Walter Driggers officiating.
