Frances Joanne Wilson Warren, age 84, of the Normantown Community passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family after an extended illness.  She was born in Winter Haven, FL on January 1, 1941, to the late Herman and Gussie Wilson.  She was the first New Year's baby born in that county.

Joanne began her journey in the workforce at a remarkably young age, starting at just five years old in her parents' café, "Wilson's Cafe." She dedicated many years of her life to this establishment, contributing to its warmth and community spirit until its closing in 1988. Her career continued to flourish as she embraced her role as a seamstress, showcasing her exceptional skills over the span of 40 years. Throughout her time in the manufacturing sector, she took on leadership responsibilities as a supervisor at Hazlehurst MFG for 15 years, also working at Toombs MFG, and ultimately retiring from Ashley MFG.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Joannes was deeply passionate about a variety of hobbies that brought joy and fulfillment to her life. She found great pleasure in sewing, showcasing creativity and craftsmanship in every project. Additionally, Joanne enjoyed fishing, planting in her garden, and preserving her vegetables, a testament to her loving care for nature and self-sufficiency. Many cherished afternoons were spent in her favorite spot on the porch, where she relished the beauty of the outdoors. Frances was renowned for her culinary skills and her delightful dishes brought warmth to the hearts of her family during the cherished gatherings of the Wilson family.

Joanne was Baptist in Faith; she was 15 years old when see accepted the Lord and was Baptized at the First Baptist Church in Lyons.  She married Bobby Junior Warren in 1968 and was married for 27 years until his death in April 1996.

Joanne is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Gussie Wilson; her husband, Bobby Junior Warren; her son, Larry Eugene Manning; her four siblings, Bobbie June Wilson Harris, Hubert Carroll Wilson, Betty Jo Wilson Scott, and Charles "Harold" Wilson.

She is survived by her loving family, sons and daughter in law, Steven Warren of Normantown and Shannon and Teisha Warren of Jesup; her daughter and son in law, Sharon and Dewayne Burton of Vidalia; her brother, Jimmy Walker of Ysplanti, Michigan; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00am on Monday, May 26, 2025, at South Thompson Baptist Church with the funeral services to follow at 11:00am with Pastor Donnie Mullis officiating.  Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kaleb Warren, Roger Wells, Robert Kent, Andrew Manning, Jody Nabb, and Robert Harris.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Jarriel, Earl Laub, and Cody Collins.

Flowers will be accepted, or donations can be made to Hospice of Wayne County.

The family would like to say "Thank You" to all the family and friends who aided in her care during these last few months.
