Gail Williams, age 66, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017 at Kindred Hospice Inpatient Unit in Athens. The Tattnall County native had lived in Savannah many years before moving to Athens fifteen years ago. She was retired from the Chatham County District Attorney’s Office in Savannah. Gale loved to be outdoors and going fishing. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was of the Baptist faith and is preceded in death by her parents, Clinton Wilds and Oletha Kersey Wilds Durden; sister, Sherry Nell Durden; brothers, Aubrey and Larry Wilds.
She is survived by her special friend, James Fielding of Athens; siblings, Neva (Ralph) Akridge of Swainsboro, RE Durden, Jr. of Aline, Bill (Sherry) Collins of Vidalia, and Stacey (Tammy) Wilds of Reidsville; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm on Sunday from the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Monday, August 28, 2017 from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with Reverend Marc Foster officiating. Interment will follow in the Stoney Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
