George Wayne Brown, a beloved husband, devoted family member, and cherished friend, passed away on April 16, 2026, at Glenvue Health and Rehabilitation after a brief illness. Born on July 29, 1951, in Glennville, Georgia, Wayne lived a full and meaningful life marked by dedication, warmth, and a zest for adventure. A proud US Air Force veteran, Wayne served his country with honor and commitment. His educational journey included attending the Seminary School at Atlanta Christian College, reflecting his thoughtful and reflective nature. Throughout his life, Wayne was known as a loving husband and the “funnest uncle,” bringing joy and laughter to those around him. Wayne's passions were many and varied. He had a deep love for Elvis Presley and treasured his 1971 Dodge Super Bee Charger, a symbol of his vibrant spirit and sense of style. An avid reader and enthusiastic traveler, Wayne delighted in exploring new horizons, from trips to the mountains and the western United States to relaxing cruises that broadened his appreciation for the world. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, G.W. and Robbie J. “Dot” Purvis Brown, and his sisters, Jean Ellen Binion and Dawn Ammons. Their memory lived on in George’s heart, inspiring him throughout his years.

He is survived by his loving spouse, Hazel Brown of Glennville, who stood by his side through life’s seasons. His brother, David T. Brown of Reidsville, remains a steadfast family anchor, as do his niece, Jessica (Gage) Quintero of Glennville, and his nephews, T.J. (Amber) Ammons of Glennville, Johnathan Ammons of Clarksville, TN, and Dayne Brown of Reidsville; great niece and nephews, Julianna Radford, Brody Radford, Noah Pye, Thomas Ammons and John Ammons all of Glennville. These close bonds were a source of mutual support and affection, reflecting the strong family ties Wayne cherished.

 A funeral service to honor Wayne’s life will be held on Friday,  April 24, 2026 at 10:00am at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, located at 8819 US-301, Glennville, Georgia. This gathering will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and all who knew George to pay their respects and celebrate a remarkable life well lived.

Wayne Brown’s legacy is one of devotion, humor, and adventure. His memory will continue to inspire and comfort those who loved him.
