Gerald "Jerry" R. Seymour passed away at his residence on June 5, 2026. He was born on May 19, 1947 in Winsted, Connecticut, to Donald and Agnes Seymour.
Jerry wore many hats throughout his life. He was a factory worker, certified HVAC technician, U.S. Army Veteran from 1966-68 and again from 1980 to 1995 (Air Defense Artillery) and a semi truck and taxi driver.
He competed in horseshoe tournaments across the U.S., bringing home many 1st place wins. He was undefeated at the American Legion horseshoe tournaments for years. Jerry enjoyed baseball where he became a Little League coach. He loved watching horse races and NASCAR. He was a fantastic bowler and enjoyed swinging his golf clubs from time to time. His favorite place to relax was under his carport with a cocktail, quietly watching the world around him.
He is survived by his wife, Yong. His two children, Michele (Terry) and Craig (Mindy). His five grandchildren, Mykel, James, Taylor, Jacob, and Jaxon; five great-grandchildren; his step-son, Ty (step-grandson,Joshua); two brothers and a sister; and a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister, step-son, and his beloved dogs Jake and Girl-Dog (iykyk).
Jerry will be buried at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville. At his request service details are private.
The family thanks everyone for their support and requests in lieu of flowers, hug your loved ones, cherish them while you have them.
