Hazel Brannon

February 2, 1933 — September 6, 2023

Collins

Mrs. Hazel Brannon, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at Memorial Health in Savannah. She was born on February 2, 1933, in Alicia, Arkansas and had lived in Collins most of her life.

For 25 years, she used her beautiful voice to sing for the Lord in nursing homes all over south Georgia. Every Sunday, she would sing hymns at her beloved Northside Baptist Church in Pembroke.  Mrs. Hazel's dedication to her faith was unwavering, and she touched the lives of many through her heartfelt singing.

Not only did Mrs. Hazel share her God-given talent with others through music, but she also had a special way of spreading love and joy through her actions. As a homemaker, she poured her heart into creating a warm and welcoming home for her family. Her caring nature extended beyond her immediate household as she constantly found ways to show kindness to those around her.

One of the ways Mrs. Hazel expressed her love was by sending cards to her family on every holiday. These thoughtful gestures were always accompanied by a scripture from the Bible that provided comfort and inspiration. Her family looked forward to receiving these heartfelt messages that reminded them of God's love and Mrs. Hazel's unwavering faith.

Remembered as a true Proverbs 31 lady, Mrs. Hazel's dedication to helping others left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to cross paths with her. Her contagious love for God and others shone brightly in her interactions, leaving a lasting impact on those who were blessed to know her.

Mrs. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Pearlie Jane Dekker Williams, as well as her brothers, Robert, Earl, and Arlen Williams, and her sister, Ella Wright.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Johnnie Brannon of Collins. Her caring legacy lives on through her children: Sharon (Carl) Burkhalter of Reidsville and Randy (Mikelene) Simmons of Glennville; sister, Elsie William Clark of Blackrock, AK.  her grandchildren: Jonathon (Jamie) Simmons of Claxton and Lisa Dawn Lamb of Glennville; great-grandchildren Jenna and Jordan Simmons, Ethan, Eli, and Ellis Lamb; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00am on Saturday, September 9, 2023 with the funeral services to follow at 11:00am from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation with Reverend Jonathon Spencer officiating.  Interment will be in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
