Obituary
Mr. Henry P. Friend, Jr. age 65 passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010
at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia. The Indiana native had
lived in Reidsville the past 27yrs. He was a retired supervisor working
with the Food Service Department with the Departmentof Corrections.
He was a US Navy veteran and attended Hope Baptist Church. He loved
building his kids and grandkids toys and taking them fishing. He is
preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Friend; mother, Bertha Friend
and a grandson, Larry Webb.
He is survived by three sons and daughters in law, Dwayne and Shirley
Friend of Hagan, Jimmy and Tawnya Friend of Reidsville, Paul and Joan
Friend of Salem, IN. Four daughters and sons in law, Lynett and Jerry
Turner of Brunswick, Susie and Larry Webb of Vidalia, Penny and Joe
Stewart of Salem, IN., Emily and Cesar Hernandez of Reidsville.
His father, Henry P. Friend of IN. Six brothers, John, David, Wayne,
Charlie and Steven Friend all of IN., Ralph Friend of PA. Four sisters,
Patty Garenn, Joyce Davis, Ann Short, Sara Mengedoht and Barbie Troop
all of IN. Twenty three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, numerous
nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation and Services
Visitation will begin at 6:00pm Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from the Reidsville Chapel.
Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00pm Thursday May 20, 2010 from the Reidsville
Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with Pastor Wally Hill officiated. Interment
will follow in the Pineview Baptist Church Cemetery with honors rendered by the US Navy.
Pallbearers will be Casey Collins, Adam Reese, Ambrosio Hernandez, Sergio Flores,
Wayne Stewart and Michael Daniels.
