James Calvin Chavis

James Calvin Chavis age 77 died in Vidalia on January 20, 2022.  He was born on April 13, 1944, to James Clyde and Sadie Lee Huett Chavis in Montgomery County.  He was a farmer and also worked as a Correctional Officer.  He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his children Adam Chavis, Jimmy (Helen) Chavis, Teresa (Wayne) Swartz, David Chavis, Calvin (Sherry) Chavis, Sadie Lee (Bobbie) Keaton, Shannon (Joe) Pritt, Kimberly (Kendrell) Tippins, Crystal (John Wendell) Powell, sisters, Sandra Chavis, Dolly Mitkus, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
