James Harold Pye

James Harold Pye, 76, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Community Hospice in Vidalia.  The lifelong Tattnall County resident was born on November 27, 1949, to James Edward and Janie Barker Pye.

Harold served his country honorably as a United States Army Vietnam Veteran, a part of his life that reflected dedication and service. In his working years, he retired from the Tattnall County Road Department after many years of service to his community.

Harold enjoyed many simple and meaningful pleasures in life. He liked watching the Georgia Bulldogs football team and the Atlanta Braves, and he especially enjoyed fishing and spending time hanging out with his family. He was also a member of VFW #7764 and attended Connection Point Church.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 28, 2026, beginning 11:30am at the funeral home.  Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Mike Palma officiating.  Military rites will be conducted by the US Army.

Pallbearers will be members of the VFW Post 7764.
