James Matthew Hollis, age 48, of Douglasville, GA passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 7, 2024. He was born in Beaufort, SC on October 5, 1975 to James Gay Crawford and Deborah Bell Brady, and resided in Reidsville, GA where he lived and worked for many years.

Matt was a free spirit with a great sense of humor and a loving heart. He was loved in return by all who knew him.

Matt is survived by his children Christian Hall, Miley Hollis and Hayven Vaughn; parents Richard and Deborah Brady and Terry and Vicky Hollis; siblings Rick Brady (wife, Laura), Stephanie Jenkins (husband, Doug), and Tiffany Davis (husband, Seth); along with several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father James Gay Crawford; grandparents Fred and Helen Bell and Mary Gay Crawford; and uncle Gary Bell.

The family will hold a celebration of life memorial at a later date.

"Each one of us here today will at one time in our lives look upon a loved one who is in need and ask the same question: We are willing help, but what, if anything, is needed? For it is true we can seldom help those closest to us. Either we don't know what part of ourselves to give or, more often than not, the part we have to give is not wanted. And so it those we live with and should know who elude us. But we can still love them - we can love completely without complete understanding."
