Mr. James “Rickey” Rock was born on June 19, 1958, to the late William, Sr. and Irene Rock.
Rickey graduated from Reidsville High School in 1976. He worked on the farm for many years. Rickey leaves his memories to be cherished by his wife, Videll Rock; one daughter, Tiffany (Ebony) Andrews; two granddaughters, Avery and Aubrey Andrews all of Mountain Home, Idaho; a special niece he treated like a daughter, Jalisa Rock; eight siblings, Willie Joe (Arline) Rock, Robert (Cynthia) Rock, William (Carolyn) Rock all of Collins, GA, Brenda (George) Fleming of Reidsville, GA, Elousie (Dave) Wynn of Cobbtown, GA, Mitchell (Kimberly) Rock of Atlanta, GA, Maurine Johnson of Philadelphia, PA, and Lee Ellen Durant of Statesboro, GA; two aunts, Martha Fleming and Clara Mae Frank; one uncle, Larry Johnson; three sisters-in-law, Eva (Roosevelt) Ashley, Bessie (Johnny) Cheley, Dorothy (Eugene) Ashley; two brothers-in-law, Glenn Andrews and James Andrews; three special great nieces and one great nephew, who he treated like his grands, Akeira, Akayla, Talia, and Lamarion; one special nephew, Darrell Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held at Holy Temple Cobbtown Community Church, 1687 Junior Collins Rd., Cobbtown, GA, with Elder Roosevelt Ashley officiating on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 2PM. Interment will follow at Old Mt. Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church, 302 Mt. Pisgah Church Rd., Statesboro, GA.
