Jane Daniel, age 79, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Meadows Park in Vidalia. She was born in Savannah on January 1, 1947, to Woodrow Wilson and Elizabeth Jane Terrell Daniel and had lived in Tattnall County most of her life. Throughout her 79 years, Jane was a steadfast presence in the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy defined by compassion, dedication, and quiet strength.
A proud alumna, Jane graduated from Lyons High School in 1965 before pursuing her calling in healthcare. She went on to complete her studies at the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, a field in which she would devote much of her working life. Jane chose to serve her community through her long and distinguished tenure at Tattnall Memorial Hospital, working as a registered nurse for over fifty years. Deeply committed to her profession, she rose to become the Director of Nursing, guiding countless colleagues and caring for generations of patients with empathy and skill.
While Jane did not have biological children, her nurturing spirit found expression in the profound role she played within her family. She lovingly raised two generations of nieces, touching each life with wisdom, encouragement, and unwavering support. Her devotion to her family is a testament to her generous heart and the gentle guidance she offered to those fortunate enough to know her.
Jane’s commitment to her profession and her loved ones stands as a lasting example of service and care. She will be remembered for her unselfish dedication, integrity, and the boundless kindness she extended to everyone around her.
Jane was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lyons and is preceded in death by her parents and 2 nieces, Anne Collier and Carolyn Johnson.
She is survived by her brother and sister in law, Joe and Terressa Daniel; and 3 special nieces, Denise Johnson, Keri Ann Collier and Krista Johnson; several other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 27, 2026 at Low Country Cremation and Burial beginning at 5:00pm. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10:00am on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at the Reidsville City Cemetery.
