Jeffrey Monroe Ryals passed away on July 2, 2023, at the age of 61, surrounded by his loving family at Memorial Health in Savannah. He was born on September 9, 1961, the son of the late Burnice Monroe and Noviadein Todd Ryals. Jeff's deep roots in Reidsville were evident in all aspects of his life. He was a graduate of Reidsville High School, class of 1979, and following graduation he remained a lifelong resident of the town in which he was born. Following his dreams and being an entrepreneur at heart, Jeff built a successful legacy as the owner and operator of "Jeff Ryals Body Shop." His dedication and skill in his chosen craft earned him the respect and admiration of many, not only in the community, but for miles around.
Although the demands of owning a small business are exhausting, in his free time, Jeff enjoyed the peace and tranquility that can be found only in nature. Fishing and hunting, in particular, brought him a sense of serenity, and some of his most cherished times were spent at the river, surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation. Yet, above all, his heart was fullest when he was with his family, especially his treasured grandchildren. Their laughter and smiles brought him immeasurable joy, and he relished every opportunity to create lasting memories with them. Their time spent together lifted his spirits, even on the worst of days. Additionally, Jeff held an abiding faith rooted in the Baptist tradition, which provided him with guidance and comfort throughout life's journey. His faith and the love of his family were the cornerstones of his character, and he exemplified the values of kindness, generosity, and love in all aspects of his life. Above all his unwavering love for his family and his zeal for life will be remembered and cherished by all those whose lives he touched. Jeff is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Rosalyn Ryals Clark and Burnice Darnell Ryals.
Left to cherish a lifetime of memories is his wife of 32 years, Renee Ryals of Reidsville; his children, Meagan (Brett) Thompson, BJ Ryals (Jailynn) and Maycee Ryals all of Reidsville; grandchildren, Haleigh, Hannah, Breagan and Rowan Thompson all of Reidsville; several nieces and nephews, and countless friends made along life’s journey.
The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial.
Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Duane Harrelson, Danny Anderson, Jessie Sharpe, Mike Thompson, Gerald Cox, and Dale Williams.
