Jerrold A. McCall, age 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 26, 1951 in Lyons to John Quentin and Jacquelyn Newton McCall and grew up in Reidsville. After graduation he moved to Glennville and in 1989 he made his home at Shellman Bluff.
A 1969 graduate of Reidsville High School, Jerrold went on to build a career marked by dedication and steady service. He retired as a Contractor Inspector with the Department of Defense at Ft. Stewart, a role that reflected his commitment and work ethic over the years.
Beyond his work, Jerrold will be remembered for the way he lived each day. He loved to fish and shrimp, and he embraced retirement with the same spirit that defined so much of his life. He was funny, one of a kind, and a true jokester who loved to tease those around him. With a happy-go-lucky nature, Jerrold brought laughter and lightness to many moments, and that joyful presence will be remembered by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a son in law, Greg Moore.
Jerrold is survived by his son and daughter in law, Kenny and Heather McCall of Glennville; his daughter, Stacy Moore of Inman, SC; his siblings, John McCall of Reidsville and Jan Rogers of Townsend; grandchildren, Nicholas (Ashlyn) McCall, Quinton McCall, Gracie Moore and Adam Moore; a lifelong friend, Mike Adams.
