Jessie Alfred Hill, 84, of Newark, New Jersey, passed away on August 6, 2026, in Kingsland, Georgia, following a terminal illness and heart failure. Jessie was born on June 30, 1942, to the late Mary Hill. He was educated through the Plainfield School System and went on to build a life centered around hard work, family, and service to his community. He worked for the East Orange Police Department, where he dedicated himself to serving others.

Jessie was a devoted and loving father who took great pride in his children and the people they became. He shared wisdom that they will carry with them throughout their lives, always encouraging them to stay encouraged, never give up, and never stop trying. 

As a father, Jessie cherished spending time with his children. Some of his favorite memories included riding bikes, playing basketball, playing video games and playing card games with his loving family. He also shared meaningful lessons about dating, self-respect, and knowing your worth as a young woman to his loving daughters.

Jessie was especially proud to see his children graduate from school, grow into responsible adults, become great parents themselves, and work toward building better lives. His love, guidance, and life lessons will continue through the generations of his family.

Jessie was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Hill his 4 siblings Laurence. Lillie Mae, Ann,and Eleanor Hill and his long life partner Beverly Massey

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children, Rachel Burney(Al Burney) Newark, NJ , Carmen Massey ( Shimmy)Augusta ,GA Oleata Massey and his beloved 17 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, other relatives, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

At this time, formal Celebration of Life arrangements are incomplete and will be announced as plans are finalized.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jessie Alfred Hill’s memory may be made to Low Country Cremation & Burial

Jessie will be remembered for his strength, his dedication to his family, his service to others, and the wisdom he shared with those he loved. His memory will live on through his children, grandchildren, and the generations that follow.
