Jo Ann Fahy

August 15, 1943 — May 17, 2026

Kingsland

Jo Ann Fahy, age 82, of Kingsland, Georgia, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 17, 2026, surrounded by her four children. The daughter of David and Hazel Sutton, she was born in Bucyrus, Ohio. A woman of deep and unwavering faith, her love for God was the guiding light of her life and was felt by everyone who knew her.

Her life was stitched together with faith, family, laughter, and deep love. She was always on the move and never missed an opportunity for adventure. With her children scattered across different states, she was always ready to pack a bag, hit the highway, and head out on a road trip to visit the people she loved most. To her, the miles were never a burden; they were simply opportunities to make memories with her family.

Jo was deeply mission-minded and loved supporting ministries both locally and around the world. She faithfully prayed for missionaries and ministry friends, always eager to hear how God was moving in the lives of others. Her heart for missions even took her on adventures abroad, including trips to Paris, France, and Chile, as well as a journey to Honduras with her daughter, Joanna.

When she wasn’t traveling, Jo was creating. She was a gifted quilter, seamstress, and crafter who poured love into every stitch. Her quilts and handmade treasures will live on as lasting reminders of the love she gave so freely. She loved beach days, flea markets, yard sales, porch sitting, and time spent with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. She found joy in the simplest things: sunshine on her face, a creative project in her hands, milkshakes with her girls, playing cards, and sharing Sunday meals with her church family.

Her family will forever remember her bright smile, adventurous heart, sharp wit, unwavering faith, and the way she loved deeply and faithfully.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Wiseman of Cleveland, Tennessee.

She is survived by her children: Todd Schiefer of Huntington, West Virginia; Scott Wendling (Tammy) of Marion, Ohio; Lisa Paprzycki (Joe) of Beverly Hills, Florida; and Joanna Ivey (Tim) of Delano, Tennessee; along with 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.

Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice knowing she is fully healed, whole, and resting in the presence of Jesus.

According to her wishes, Jo will be cremated, and her family will hold a celebration of life at a later date to honor her.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:21
