Joe Wallace Rush

Joe Wallace Rush Sr., 73, of Reidsville, Georgia, passed away on April 21, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family and under the compassionate care of Community Hospice. Joe was raised in the Mendes and Glennville, Georgia area before making his home in Reidsville in 1994. He was a man who valued family above all else and found comfort in being surrounded by those he loved most. Joe retired as a trucker and heavy equipment operator from Triangle J, where he worked alongside Mr. Tim Jarriel for nearly 30 years. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, June Bowen-Rush; his parents, Kate and Wallace Rush; his son, Joe Wallace Rush Jr. “Jody”; and his daughter, Jennifer Kate Rush-Crawford “Jenny”.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Joy Rush-Barlow and Shawn Gay of Reidsville; his brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Stephanie Rush of Glennville; and his cherished grandchildren, Adrianna Barlow and Shontelle Mobley, Kaitlyn Crawford, Sarah Crawford, Nathan Tanner, and Braylen Jarriel; and Zack Bowen, who he thought of as a son.

Joe will be remembered for his love of family, his strength, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Low Country Cremation is handling arrangements. A private graveside service will be held for his family.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
