John "Johnny" Wesley Ulmer

John “Johnny” Wesley Ulmer, age 62, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at his residence in Reidsville surrounded by his family and under the care of Affinis Hospice.  He was born in Savannah on August 26, 1960 and had lived half his life in Savannah and the other half in Tattnall County.  Johnny was in the construction business most of his life.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, fishing and riding the 4 wheeler.  He was of the Baptist faith and is preceded in death by his parents, Esther Grace (John) Tidwell and Dewey Hobson Ulmer Jr.; his brothers, James, Dewey III, and Joey Ulmer; sisters, Betty Willis, Peggy Ulmer and Angela Heather Tidwell.

He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Cowart and Courtney Ulmer; brothers, Richard (Mildred) Ulmer, Wayne Ulmer, Billy (Jennifer) Tidwell and Lee Tidwell; sisters in law, Sharon Ulmer and Martha Ulmer; grandchildren, Blu Cowart (Jolyn Carmichael), River Cowart (Raven), Brooke and Brentley Sikes; the son he always claimed, Jody Tootle; nieces and nephews, Lil Ronney Willis, Lee Willis, Carolyn Johnson, Jessica Dubberly, Matt, Thomas, and Scott Ulmer, Nicholas Anderson, Keith and Kevin Ulmer.

The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 am on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 with the funeral services to follow at 10:30am from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial in Reidsville.  Interment will follow in the Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah.
