Matthew Curry

Matthew Curry age 44, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN.  He was born on May 24, 1982, in Savannah and had lived in Glennville most of his life.

Matthew will be remembered as a happy-go-lucky person whose warmth was felt by everyone around him. He had a way of connecting with people, and children especially were drawn to him and loved being in his company. His easy spirit and kind presence left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

Matthew worked as a painter for many years. He also found great enjoyment in the outdoors and in the activities, he loved most, including fishing, hunting, and riding and mudbogging his 4-wheeler. These interests brought him happiness and reflected his energetic nature and love of life.

He was of the Primitive Baptist faith and is preceded in death by his grandparents, Boby and Lois Curry and Frank and Jean Altman.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Lawanna Dubberly (Dwaine) of Allenhurst and Glen (Linda) Curry of Glennville; brother, Patrick (Megan) Dubberly of Franklin, KY; nephews, Jack and Silas Dubberly; aunt, Janice Brannen of Glennville and uncle, William Altman.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Glennville Funeral Home with the Reverend Hank Griffin officiating.  Interment will be in the Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brad Whitlow, Jason Whitlow, Mark Whitehurst, Don Durrence, Jacob Durrence, and Jonathan Altman.
