Julia Ann Peters

Julia Ann Peters, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at her home on the family farm in Collins. Born on November 17, 1958, to Calton and Julia Sikes Powell, Julia lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and an appreciation for the simple blessings of home.

For many years, Julia made her home in Florida, where she spent her professional career working as an accountant. Following her retirement, she returned to Georgia and settled on her family farm on Jarriel’s Bridge Road in Collins, a place she affectionately called “God’s Little Green Acres.” Although she had retired from her career in accounting, Julia was not quite ready to stop working. After returning to Georgia, she began a new chapter as a dedicated school bus driver for Tattnall County Schools, faithfully serving the children and families of the community for more than nine years.

Eventually retiring once again, Julia was happiest at home on “God’s Little Green Acres.” She treasured the peaceful country life and found her greatest joy in taking care of her husband, loving and spoiling her beloved fur babies, and simply enjoying the farm and the place she was proud to call home.

Julia was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and carried with her a deep love for her family. Whether through her years of professional work in Florida, her service to the children of Tattnall County, or the quiet days spent surrounded by those she loved on the family farm, Julia leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be treasured by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Calton and Julia Sikes Powell.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are her son, John (Amanda) Peters of Collins; four grandchildren, Dalton Peters, Mikala Peters, Courtney Mae (Dylan) Bradley, and Addison Redd; three great-grandchildren, Harley Spells, Millie Mae Rose Spells, and Daxton Peters; two brothers, Ronnie (Katherine) Powell and Johnny (Sandy) Powell; several nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and countless friends made along life’s journey.

Memorial service arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced when finalized.
