Juliette "Judy" Hart

Mrs. Juliette Smith Hart, daughter of the late  Jesse Edgar Smith and Clara Nell Musselwhite Smith of Fort Myers, Florida was born October 9, 1947 in Bainbridge, Georgia. She attended the public schools of Lee County. After high school she went to work for a local Attorney where she learned many court and secretarial skills. She then moved to Immokalee and went on to work for a local accounting office owned by Bob Coleman where she found her passion for taxes & bookkeeping. This passion continued throughout the rest of her life for 50+ years. Her livelihood gained many friends and beloved clients through the years.

She was united in holy matrimony to William Gene Hart (Gene/Bill) in July of 1967 with 51 wonderful years of marriage. This union was blessed with three children. Mrs. Judy Hart was a loving wife, mother and nanny. She was an active member of Bible Baptist Church where she loved her Real Life Gals Life Group and the members of the church. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by so many.  She cherished her family most and always welcomed another place at her table.  Her home was always full of friends, family, and clients, who enjoyed a piece of her delicious pound cake and sweet tea.

Each and every one of us learned so much from her, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She peacefully departed this life Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her Husband William Gene Hart, her Father and Mother Edgar and Clara Smith of Fort Myers, Florida., Sister Darlene Smith, Brother-in-law Flip Harby, Father and Mother-in-law Reppard and Bernice Hart of Statesboro, GA, and Brother and Sister-in-law James and Virgina Hart. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, William Gene Hart Jr (Billy) and Jamie Gwidt of Key West, Florida, Christi Phinney Hart, Timothy Samuel Hart (Tim) of Statesboro, Georgia, Angela Darlene Hart Collins (Angie) and Stacey Collins of Stilson, Georgia; Grandchildren, Joshua and Jena Sandoval, Madison and Jared Wood, Kasey Collins (Andrew Proctor), Gretchen Hart (Robert Patton), Wayne Hart, Tyler Hart (Samantha Laird) and Zachary Baker and three great grandchildren, Ryler Hart, Colton Hart and Kaden Gene Sandoval (due September 2024). Brothers and Sister, Jimmy (Lorraine) Smith of Fort Myers, Florida, Patsy (Marty) Martin of Fort Myers, Florida, Trudy Harby of Fort Myers Beach, Florida, Pete Smith of St. James City, Florida. Also survived by many nieces and nephews which she loved dearly.

Pallbearers will be Billy Hart, Josh Sandoval, Stacey Collins, Kenny Martin, Brian Smith,  Jimmy Smith, Jr.

Viewing will be held Monday June 3, 2024 at Bible Baptist Church in Statesboro, Georgia from 6:00-8:00pm

Funeral will be held Tuesday June 4, 2024 at Bible Baptist Church at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, Georgia at 1:00 pm where she’ll be laid to rest with her loving husband Gene Hart.

Our hearts have been made to rejoice during the illness and passing of our loved one by the many acts of kindness extended to our family. Your prayers and all expressions of love and sympathy are greatly appreciated. May God’s blessing of peace and love continue with you forever.

Per the family’s request they ask that in lieu of flowers that you donate to the Statesboro Ogeechee Area Hospice as they are Angels in Waiting and have cared for both mom and dad.
