Kerry Ann Ricks

January 10, 1975 — August 10, 2023

Mount Vernon, GA

Kerry Ann Ricks, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, gracefully bid farewell to this world on August 10, 2023, at the age of 48. Born on January 10, 1975, in the charming town of Winter Garden, Florida, Kerry's journey touched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Kerry's vibrant spirit and warm heart were evident in every facet of her life. For 19 beautiful years, she shared her life and love with her devoted husband, Ronnie Ricks, in their cherished home in Mount Vernon, Georgia. Together, they created a haven of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

A nurturing and devoted mother, Kerry raised her children with unwavering care and boundless affection. Her daughter, Leilani Horton, her husband Tyler Horton, and their son Kaden Horton, as well as her daughter Makaleika Strickland, held a special place in her heart. Her son Chase Strickland, his wife Cheyenne, and their son Collin brought immeasurable joy and pride to her life. Kerry's love and guidance have undoubtedly shaped the lives of her children, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and unity.

Born to Doris Mott and the late Grady Mott, Kerry was a ray of light in their lives. Her father's memory was lovingly embraced by her stepmother, Linda Mott. She also held a deep bond with her late brothers, Larry Inklebarger and Barry Inklebarger. Kerry's siblings include Terry Inklebarger, happily married to Diane and residing in Florida, Jerry Inklebarger, lovingly wed to Ann in Florida, and Christopher Bowen of Dublin, Georgia. Her sister, Sherry Skipper, was a constant source of support and camaraderie from Cedars Crossing, Georgia. The love between Kerry and her seven nieces and nephews was a testament to her nurturing nature and the special place she held in their hearts.

Kerry's artistic soul found expression through her passion for painting. Her creative works captured the beauty of the world and reflected the depth of her imagination. Kerry's talents extended beyond her canvas as she dedicated three years to the Montgomery State Prison, where she served in food service. Her dedication and hard work left a lasting impression on those she encountered.

In 2005, Kerry and her family embraced Mount Vernon, Georgia, as their home, where she lovingly tended to her family as a devoted stay-at-home mom until her children had grown. Her warm presence and caring demeanor endeared her to the community.

To honor the life and legacy of Kerry Ann Ricks, a celebration of her remarkable journey will take place on August 26th at 1:00 pm. Friends and family are invited to join in remembering and celebrating her life at Ailey Baptist Church, located at 327 South Broad Street, Ailey, Georgia.

Kerry's departure from this world leaves an unfillable void, but her spirit will forever reside in the hearts of those who had the privilege of sharing her journey.
