In Loving Memory of Louis D. Harrison

Louis D. Harrison, born May 3, 1938, in the parish of Manchester, Jamaica, passed away peacefully at his home in Reidsville, Georgia, on January 31, 2026.

Rooted in the rich culture and strong traditions of Jamaica, Louis carried with him the values of resilience, determination, and pride throughout his life. Those early foundations shaped the man he became — hardworking, dependable, and deeply committed to his family.

Louis built a respected career as a painting contractor. He was known for his craftsmanship, attention to detail, and unwavering work ethic. To him, painting was more than a trade — it was a reflection of character and discipline. Through decades of dedicated work, he earned the trust and respect of many.

Faith was an important part of Louis’s life. He was raised in the Baptist tradition and later became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. His beliefs guided him, giving him strength and hope, and served as a steady foundation throughout his life.

Outside of work and worship, Louis had a deep love for sports. He enjoyed both baseball and cricket, sports that connected his Jamaican roots with his life in the United States. He was a devoted Atlanta Braves fan and would enthusiastically cheer them on, though from time to time he would root for the New York Yankees as well. Watching games brought him joy and was one of the simple pleasures he truly cherished.

Above all, Louis was a father, grandfather, brother, and uncle whose legacy lives on through his family. He is survived by his children: Windel, Richard, Andrew, Ian, and Marsha.

He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Orlando, Andrew Jr., Andre, Richard Michael, Lashawn, Shay, Shaheem, Chinae, and Savy.

Louis is also survived by his brothers, Lloyd and Winston Harrison, along with several cherished nieces and nephews.

Louis will be remembered for his strength, his steady presence, and the example he set through hard work, faith, and perseverance. Though he has departed this life, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Louis will be remembered for his strength, his steady presence, and the example he set through hard work, faith, and perseverance. While he rests, his family holds close the Bible’s promise of a time when “death will be no more” (Revelation 21:4), and they look forward with hope to seeing him again.

Family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026 with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses-Reidsville.
