Mary Jo Cribbs Rewis, age 71, passed away peacefully in her recliner on Saturday, September 13, 2025. She was born on November 20, 1953, to Joseph Hill and Mary Odessa Rappe Cribbs in Metter and had lived in Cobbtown since she was 17 years old.  

Mary Jo had a commendable professional journey that spanned over four decades. She dedicated 25 years of her career to Piggly Wiggly, where she became a familiar face to many in the community. Following her time there, she contributed an additional 15 years at Oxford Industries, demonstrating her strong work ethic and commitment to her roles.

Beyond her professional life, Mary Jo was a vibrant member of the community. For 35 years, she shared her passion for clogging as a member of the Heartland Express Cloggers, bringing joy not only to herself but to those who watched her perform. Her love for life extended into her hobbies and interests, where she especially enjoyed cooking (lasagna being her signature dish), traveling, and fishing. These activities reflected her adventurous spirit and her desire to create cherished memories with family and friends.

In all aspects of her life, Mary Jo was known for always having a smile on her face. Her warm personality and kindness touched the lives of those around her, making her a beloved figure in her community. One of her proudest accomplishments was earning her GED, a testament to her resilience and commitment to personal growth.

She attended Hillside Church of God and is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Buster Rewis; her son, Travis Rewis; and her siblings, James Cribbs, Rodger Cribbs, and Patsy Padgett.

Mary Jo is survived by her husband of 25 years, Randy Blankenship of Cobbtown; her children, Bruce Rewis of Oak Park and Kandi Rewis of Cobbtown; her sister, Judith Cribbs of Vidalia; her grandchildren, Kaley Rewis, Kayla Rewis Nelms, Benjamin Rewis, Travis Rewis, Paige Hattaway, and Carly Hattaway; great grandchildren, Suzette Nelms and Adaline Nelms and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Jo's legacy will be honored through a visitation and funeral service held at Low Country Cremation & Burial in Reidsville, Georgia. The visitation will begin on September 16, 2025, at 5:30 PM, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM.
