On the evening of May 7, 2026, at 5:52 PM, Mary J. Paul passed peacefully at her home in Blackshear at the age of 73. Mary was born in Waycross but spent most of her life in Blackshear. She graduated from Waycross High School and later worked at Dubberly Glass, where she retired after many years of service. Mary enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors. She would always say "Always stop and smell the flowers. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years, Allen Paul and by her parents, Lucille Jewell and Wilford Jewell.

Survivors include her daughter, Erika “Nikki” (Chris) Leggett of Blackshear; stepson Scott Paul of Blackshear; stepdaughter Lacie (Jason) Montgomery of Farmington Illinois; her loving sister, Frances (James) Raulerson of Blackshear; grandchildren Makayla (Devin)Conger of Oceanside California, Mackenzie Leggett, and Christopher Leggett of Blackshear; and step-grandchildren Caden and Kenny West. She is also survived by her niece, Terrie (Kelly) Dixon of Blackshear; nephew Jamie (Regan) Raulerson of Brantley County; great-niece Layne (Matthew) Piestrak of Patterson; great-nephews Grayson Raulerson and Carson Martin; two great-great-nephews, Dixon and Caden Piestrak of Patterson; and many other loving family members.

Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She had a beautiful soul and will always be remembered as someone who deeply cared for others and devoted herself to her family.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
