Mary Edna Schell

Mary Driggers Griffin Schell, age 92, of Warner Robins, Georgia passed away, following an extended illness, on November 13, 2023 at The Lodge in Warner Robins.  Mrs. Schell was born on September 26, 1931 in  Reidsville, Georgia to the late Beulah Driggers Howard and John Haden Driggers. She attended the public schools of Tattnall County, and in addition to being a homemaker, spent her life working for Publix Grocery Stores, and operating a day care for small children.  In addition to living in the Reidsville area, Miss Mary was also a long time resident of Orlando, Florida,  Augusta  Georgia , and Warner Robins, Georgia.  Miss Mary enjoyed crafts, cooking, and working in her yard. Mary was a Christian and a lifelong member of the Nazarene Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter Schell, and a daughter, Gale Parker. 

Those left to forever cherish her memory include her daughter LaTrelle Joiner Andrews (Gary) of Centerville, Georgia; son Cecil Odell Griffin of Houston, Texas; two brothers:  Alton Driggers (Elaine) of Elmore, Alabama , and Jim Howard (Virginia) of Augusta, GA..

She has three grandchildren: Amy Parker Littlefield (Chris) of  Anderson, South Carolina;  Shane Joiner (Regina) of Jacksonville, Florida; and Coby Parker of Atlanta, Georgia.

She leaves behind seven great grandchildren: Zach, Mallory, Caroline, and Will Joiner all of Jacksonville, FL.;  Josie, Sarah, and  Ben Littlefield of  Anderson, South Carolina.

She is also survived by her niece Karen Thigpen (Rick); and nephew Kevin Howard (Erin).  ----nephew John Driggers (Candy);  and niece Andrea Churchwell (Chris).

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on December 2, 2023 at Mount Carmel Methodist Church in Reidsville, Georgia with Rev. Gary Andrews, her son-in-law, officiating.  Burial will be in the cemetery at Mount Carmel.
