Mathew "Matt" B. Jasinski, age 59, passed away on September 22, 2024 at Memorial Health in Savannah. Born on October 14, 1964, in Brockton, Massachusetts, to Mathew Stanley and Lestina Gagnon Jasinski. Matt had been a resident of Glennville for the past 36 years.
A graduate of Clayton County High School in 1982, Matt furthered his education at Georgia Southern College, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in 1987. It was during his time at Georgia Southern that he met the love of his life, Gala Fennell. The two married in 1988, and had 36 wonderful years, they shared a partnership filled with love, laughter, and support.
Matt's career began as the assistant service manager at Brent Walker Ford, where he worked diligently for 16 years. Following the closing of the Ford dealership, he transitioned to Claxton Poultry, and most recently, he was employed at Owen's Supply Company in Pembroke.
Outside of work, he was known for his enthusiasm as an avid Georgia Southern University sports fan, showcasing his school spirit and dedication to his alma mater. Matt also enjoyed a range of hobbies that included running, vacationing, football, and engaging in spirited discussions about politics. He cherished dining out with friends and family, creating lasting memories over shared meals. Although he embraced a variety of interests, he would often humorously admit that being a handyman, fishing, and playing cards were not among his strengths.
He is a member of the Glennville First United Pentecostal Church and is preceded in death by his parents and his brother in law, Ricky Bland.
