Mitchell Kelly Meeks

Mitchell Meeks, age 50 of Townsend passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026. He was born on July 23, 1975 in Palatka, Florida to Howard O'Neal and Margaret Bailey Kicklighter and had lived most of his life in Townsend. He was a shrimp boat captain who loved the ocean and shrimping was his passion. He is preceded in death by his parents. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his son, Taylor (Brooklyn) Meeks of Townsend. also survived by numerous other relatives and friends. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:30pm on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Boones Dock, 405 Boone Dock Rd. Darien, GA. 31305. The family requests that you join them as they celebrate Mitchell's life, his love for the ocean, and the memories they will cherish forever.
