Nancy Marie Carter

Nancy M. Carter, age 57 of Hazlehurst passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Jeff Davis Hospital after a short illness. She was born on May 8, 1968 in Apopka, Florida to George and Mary Frances Harper McGowan. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, and watching Star Wars. She is preceded in death by her father, a brother and a sister. 

She is survived by her children, James Carter, Jr., Shelly Carter and Heather Deen; mother, Mary Frances McGowan; sister, Mary Richardson; 17 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews whom she truly adored and loved. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Low Country Cremation and Burial has the honor to serve the Carter family.
