Pastor Jimmy Bargeron

Pastor Jimmy Bargeron, age 83 passed away at the Community Hospice on Tuesday April 9, 2024. A native and lifelong resident of Glennville, Pastor Jimmy was born on April 1, 1941, to James Dillard and Eva Mae Strickland Bargeron.

Throughout his career, Pastor Bargeron was not only a skilled carpenter but also devoted his time as a funeral attendant at Carter Funeral Chapel and the Glennville Funeral Home for many years. With a passion for ministry that spanned 43 years, he served as the Pastor of several churches including Cobb Creek Baptist Church in Lyons, Grace Baptist Church of Ludowici, Miles Chapel Baptist Church of Appling County, and Emanuel Baptist Church in Lyons.

One of Pastor Bargeron's fondest memories was his love for attending church services, where he found solace and joy in his faith. Beyond his professional life, he indulged in hobbies like watching Westerns on television, attending Gospel Sings, gardening, and fishing.

Pastor Jimmy Bargeron is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Bargeron of Glennville. He will be deeply missed by his children: Angie (Ronnie) King of Glennville, Tena (Steve) Reese of Lyons, and Tony (Teresa) Bargeron of Glennville. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Jamie Wilson, Kurt DeLoach, Jessica (Frog) Bargeron, Blake Bargeron, Cierra Bargeron, and Jacob Bargeron; as well as great-grandchildren: Ethan DeLoach, Olivia Bargeron, Taylor DeLoach Colton DeLoach, and Brantley Bargeron.

The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00pm on Friday, April 12, 2024 at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from the Chapel of the Glennville Funeral Home with Reverend Bryan Anderson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Glennville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Wilson, Kurt DeLoach, Frog Bargeron, Blake Bargeron, Bradley Anderson, and Steve Long.
