Patrick Murphy Beswick
1965 ~ 2026
Patrick Murphy Beswick passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 5th, 2026, at his home in Richmond Hill, Georgia. He was 60.
Pat, as he was affectionately known, was born in Brandywine, Maryland on September 24, 1965. He was the son of Charles and Bettie Beswick, small business owners, who raised a close, loving family of four children. Pat attended and graduated from Gwen Park High School. With cars in his heart from a young age, Pat worked hard starting in his teen years with his dad and brothers in the family auto shop, Charles & Company Cars, developing a passion and skill for the mechanic trade early on.
It was 1986 at the Kingdom Hall in Waldorf, Maryland when he met his beloved wife, Ginny. They married in 1988, and Pat became stepfather to Ginny’s daughter and three sons. The family moved south in 2006 to plant roots in Richmond Hill, where Pat’s passion for cars and his entrepreneurial spirit inspired him to launch his own business, building on his family legacy of automotive work. Wheels Autoworks became a dependable fixture in the Richmond Hill community, serving customers with all needs from repairs to tires to paint and used vehicles. In recent years, Pat expanded the business to include towing service with Southbound Towing. He enjoyed running the business and working with his brother, Brady and several family and friends over time. His loyal dog Jax accompanied him to work every day and was a familiar face to their Wheels customers.
In a business where trust can be hard to come by, Pat was known for his integrity and stood out for being honest, transparent, and dependable. He had a loyal following of customers and was known for going out of his way for people in need and sometimes was a helpful port in a storm for travelers encountering trouble on an I-95 road trip. He was a respected businessman, balancing his knowledge and skills in taking care of cars with a genuine care for people.
Pat’s passion for cars carried over into his personal interests as well, where he loved classic cars and was a rabid racing fan. He closely followed NASCAR and spent many Sundays over the years watching racing’s best roar around the track. He was a die-hard fan of the late, great Dale Earnhardt, and his collection of die-casts, hats, and racing memorabilia ran deep. Pat’s dog before Jax even carried an appropriate race-fan name – Goodwrench.
Even more meaningful and important than being a successful business owner was Pat’s devotion to his family. From the day he met Ginny, he selflessly gave himself to be her partner in raising her kids and truly taking on the role of a parent as if they were his own blood. Together, they nurtured the four children from early ages, supporting and watching them as they grew to start their own careers and families near and far while always remaining close. Through it all, he became a beloved “Papa” or “Pat Pat” to eight grandchildren.
Pat is survived by his wife, Ginny; stepchildren and their spouses John (Pamela) Stanley, Seth (Anne) Stanley, Jill (Matt Woehrmann) Stanley, and Bobby Petty; grandchildren Keira and Johnny Stanley, Jackson and Mae Leach, Tyler Luksic, Cayden Stanley, and Bobby and Sebastian Petty; his mother, Bettie Beswick; sister, Carol Beswick; and his brothers Chad and Brady Beswick. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Beswick.
The family hosted a small and private celebration of Pat’s wonderful life at Marker 107 on the Richmond Hill coast, a favorite haunt of Pat and Ginny’s where they were regulars and often found together having dinner and mixing with the community he loved.
For those wanting to leave a lasting impact in Pat’s memory, the family has suggested donations to help with rescue animals’ veterinarian bills. This can be done by either calling 912-933-2230 and donating over the phone to Castaways Pet Rescues, or mailing a check made out to Cedar Animal Hospital (150 Cedar St, Richmond Hill, GA 31324) with Castaways Pet Rescues in the memo; in either case, please make sure to note it is in Pat Beswick’s memory.
Low Country Cremation and Burial has the honor to serve the Beswick family.
