Ricky Allen Murray, age 73, passed away on June 12, 2026. He was born on April 22, 1953, in South Florida, where he was born and raised. In 1992, he moved to Reidsville, to be closer to family, where he would make his home for the remainder of his life. A hardworking man, Rick was self-employed as a painter throughout his adult life until his retirement. He took great pride in his work and in providing for those he loved. Known for his strong work ethic and dedication, Rick believed in doing things the right way and never shied away from a hard day's work.
Rick enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He could often be found watching NCIS, and he especially enjoyed sharing his musical talents with the churches he attended, where he played both the drums and guitar. Music brought him joy, and he found great fulfillment using his talents in service to the Lord. Above all else, Rick loved God and cherished his family. His faith remained the foundation of his life, and he was a man whose kindness, love, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on those around him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille McCoy Savoy of Reidsville; his father, J.K. Murray Sr. of Stuart, Florida; his sister, Vondell Iddins of Glennville; and his brother, J.K. Murray Jr. of Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Melissa Clark (Ron) of Reidsville; his sister, Joyce Brazell of Reidsville; his grandsons, Ryan Murray (Ashlyn) of Milner and David Clark of Reidsville; his granddaughters, Paris Murray of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Trinity Griffin of Reidsville; his great granddaughters, Paisley Kate Murray and Grayson Claire Murray; along with several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial.
Low Country Cremation & Burial is honored to serve the Murray family during their time of bereavement.
