ROBERT BRIAN “BP” PALMER

October 20, 1979 - September 27, 2026

Robert Brian Palmer passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026, at Community Hospice in Vidalia, surrounded by family following a prolonged illness. He was affectionately known as “BP” to friends and “Bubba” to family. He was 46 years old and a lifelong resident of Evans County.

As a young boy, Brian enjoyed working with his hands, building model cars and developing a talent for drawing and sketching. As a teenager, his adventurous side began to show, when he took up skateboarding and bullridding. Brian received his diploma from Claxton High School in 1998 and went on to build a career as a skilled and hardworking ironworker and welder, traveling many places throughout the years. He took great pride in his work and was well known for his abilities. Outside of work, Brian simply loved being outdoors and listening to old country music.

Brian was the oldest of two children and was, according to the long running family joke, his mama’s favorite child. Of course, everyone knows it wasn’t really a joke. He shared a special bond with his nieces, Emma and Isabella, and was especially close to his great niece, Raylee. She brought much joy and love to his life over the past year.

He was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, pops, and friend. Brian was selfless and the kind of person who would help anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph A. “Dick” and Effie Stanfield, and Wylie and Ruth Palmer. Brian is survived by his mother, Cissy (David DeLoach) Palmer; son, Andrew Palmer; granddaughter Rumani Palmer; sister, Tiffany Palmer; nieces, Emma (Gage Powell) Palmer and Isabella Haire; beloved great niece, Raylee Powell; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, stories, and moments that his family and friends will carry with them forever.

The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00pm on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 with the funeral services following at 3:00pm from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with Reverend Tom Shepherd and Pastor Brian Durden officiating.  Interment will be in Brewton Cemetery in Evans County.
