Robert Willie Joyner, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Jesup on January 2, 1945 to Emory Lee and Nellie Mae Roberson Joyner and had lived in Glennville most of his life.  A dedicated member of his community and a loving family man. 

Robert graduated from Wayne County High School in 1963, laying the foundation for a life filled with achievements. He went on to have a successful career as a Project Engineer, retiring from the Georgia Department of Transportation. His professional journey was marked by commitment and excellence, earning the respect of colleagues and peers alike.

Robert proudly devoted several years to the Georgia National Guard, serving his country with honor and integrity. This commitment to service extended into his community life as well, where he became a charter member of the Glennville First United Pentecostal Church. His unwavering faith led him to serve as an Elder and as Sunday School Superintendent for an impressive 50 years, influencing countless lives through his dedication and leadership.

Beyond his professional and spiritual endeavors, Robert embraced creativity and craftsmanship. He found joy in photography, woodworking and making stained glass, hobbies that exemplified his artistic spirit. Furthermore, he treasured traveling with his family, creating lasting memories and strengthening the bonds of love and companionship that he fostered throughout his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Harold L. Joyner, Mary Blanche Joyner and Ruby Nell Manning.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Margaret Joyner of Glennville; his children, Tyron (Jane) Joyner of Glennville, Robin (Delbert) Kerby of Collins, and Carman Joyner of Glennville; siblings, Darrell (Weada) Joyner and Hubert Joyner all of Jesup; grandchildren, Luke (Taylor) Joyner, Jessica (Ryne) Huggins, and Briar (Bethany) Kerby; great grandchildren, Charlotte "Charli" Joyner, Riggins Joyner, Kallen Huggins, Kennon Huggins, and Heidi Huggins; several nieces and nephews

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 29, 2026 beginning at 6:00pm from the Glennville First United Pentecostal Church.  Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 11:00am from the Glennville First United Pentecostal Church with Bishop James Holland and Reverend Brad Pickren officiating.  Interment will follow in the Revis Blocker Family Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Luke Joyner, Ryne Huggins, Briar Kerby, Jeryl Bacon, Bro. Oscar Gaitan, and Jerald Lynn.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Sunday School students of the Glennville First United Pentecostal Church.

Glennville Funeral Home has the honor to serve the Joyner family.
