Sally Jo Cox, age 85, of Brunswick, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in Bellevue, Washington. She was born on October 21, 1940, in Blackshear, Georgia to Shular L. and Ellie Hendley Cox, and lived most of her life in Brunswick.
Throughout her extensive career in hospitality, Sally Jo was known not only for her professionalism but also for her genuine care for others, making a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike. Her enthusiasm for life extended beyond her work; she found great happiness in dancing and baking, activities that brought pleasure not only to herself but also to her family and friends. She attended the Pentecostals of Brunswick and found many years of comfort and community.
One of the most treasured aspects of Sally Jo’s life was the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Their presence brought her immense joy and filled her days with laughter and love. Those moments together remain some of the sweetest memories for all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and son, Wesley Mitchell Cox, as well as her siblings Janette Aspinwall, Daisy Luke, Robert Shannon Cox.
Sally is survived by her children, Richard Allen Cox, Sabrina Almasri both of Brunswick; her siblings, Elaine (James) Branch, Shular (Cathy) Cox, as well as her grandchildren, Allen (Jacy) Cox, Chelsea Holyfield, Mikey Holyfield, Briana Almasri, Amira Almasri, and 5 great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 PM on Friday, March 20th, 2026, at the Pentecostals of Brunswick, with funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM with Reverend Danny Webster officiating. Interment will be at Palmetto Cemetery. These gatherings will offer a time for reflection and celebration of a life well lived.
Pallbearers will be Richard Cox, James David Branch, Weston Branch, Shane Stutts, Allen Cox, Jr., and Mikey Holyfield.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Shular Cox, Bashar Almasri, James W. Branch, and Greg Miller.
Glennville Funeral Home has the honor to serve the Cox Family.
