Sid Cox, age 63, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026, at his home. Sid was born in Savannah on January 23, 1963, to Jerry and Rosalyn Cox and had lived in Tattnall County most of his life.
Sid’s journey began with a strong foundation laid through his education, graduating from Pinewood Christian Academy in 1981, followed by Middle Georgia College in 1983. At the tender age of 16, Sid embarked on a remarkable career at Rotary Corporation. His loyalty and commitment to the company spanned over three decades, during which he rose to the esteemed position of Territory Sales Manager. His contributions and steadfast service left an indelible mark on the organization.
Between his early years at Rotary, Sid devoted eleven years to public service as a correctional officer with the Georgia Department of Corrections. This chapter in his life showcased his resolve and devotion to making a difference in the community, further illustrating the depth of his character.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Sid was a man of varied interests and passions. He was an avid NASCAR fan, finding joy in the thrilling world of racing. Fishing was another cherished pastime, offering moments of peace and reflection. Sid also valued his physical well-being, maintaining a dedicated routine at the gym every day. Above all, the time he spent with his beloved wife, sons and grandchildren brought him immense happiness and fulfillment.
Sid was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church and was a supporter of the Dirt Church. He is preceded in death by his mother, Rosalyn Cox.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Cox of Reidsville; his sons and daughters in law, Jeremy and Caitlin Cox, Jeffery and Mandi Cox all of Reidsville, and Luke and Bethany Cox of Pembroke; father and step mother, Jerry and Frances Cox of Bellville; sister and brother in law, Lori and Randy Tucker of Augusta; step sons, James (Lizzy) Lloyd and Joshua (Shelby) Lloyd all of Reidsville; grandchildren, Braylin, Colton, Olivia, Kensley, Winter, Grayson, and Marshall
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 5, 2026, beginning at 1:00pm with the funeral services to follow at 3:00pm from the Reidsville Baptist Church with the Reverend Jesse Bates officiating. Interment will be in the Bay Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Will Tucker, Logan Tucker, James Lloyd, Joshua Lloyd, Norman Ioane and Russ Rhoden.
